Because of this event, an eccentric boy named Gabriel Weatherstone learns a secret about himself and the community he lives in that leaves him struggling to come to terms with it. Nothing is what it once seemed, and he finds the world stranger than he ever imagined and more terrifying than he ever conceived!

When he managed to steady his breathing, it calmed him enough to try going a few more feet. He could feel his hands trembling as he reached for any sign of a door. Suddenly, it seemed as if he had come to the end, but not of the corridor, of his resolve! Something ahead, something was there! His body ran cold with horror, knowing that his search had come to an as yet uncertain end. He was discovered! But, by what?
